KEY ACTION STEPS

Mission is to instill high expectations for their academic and artistic pursuits, and challenge students to realize their fullest potential.

 

Vision is to provide students with dynamic classroom experiences, and expose them to the cultural arts in a climate that is rigorous, safe, nurturing and respectful.

 

 

 

 

Mathematics:

1.     In order to impact mathematics performance, staff will be given more opportunities to instructionally collaborate to ensure the development of plans for systematic instruction of students or to enhance student abilities to solve complex mathematical tasks.

2.     In order to impact mathematics performance , staff will increase student voice by making student goal setting and monitoring personal achievement a priority.

3.  In order to impact mathematics performance, staff will     implement strategies discussed at monthly team meetings with the MST to enhance instruction.

 

Literacy:

1.    In order to impact language arts performance, staff will make student goal setting and monitoring personal achievement a priority.

2.     In order to impact language arts performance, staff will ensure that all students are participating in small group instruction that will encompass HCPSS ELA Best Practices.

3.    In order to impact language arts performance, staff will be given more opportunities to instructionally collaborate to assure best practices are occurring in every classroom.

School Targets

 

The percentage of students to meet or exceed their expected Fountas and Pinnell benchmark level in reading shall increase from 91.9% to 93% for Grades K-2. For African-American students this percentage shall increase from 68.6% to 73.6 % in Grades K-2.

 

For Grades 3,4, and 5 the percentage of students meeting or exceeding the expected county benchmark on MAP assessments from the Fall to Spring assessments shall increase from 59.2 to 64.2 .

For Grades 1-5 the percentage of students meeting or exceeding the expected county benchmark on MAP assessments from the Math Spring 2016 to Spring 2017 assessments shall increase from 62.7 to 67.7 .For African-American students this percentage shall increase from 24.2% to 31.2 %.
